Teak is my preferred choice of wood for a shower bench or for outdoor furniture. This is a beautiful bench, suitable for many uses, both indoor and out.The seat dimensions are approximately 25" X 11" and it is 26" tall including the arms.It is stated to bear up to 300 pounds in weight, and there are non-slip rubber pads on each of the four corners on the bottom. The arm rests double as towel racks, and are also useful for support if needed for rising or standing. It is well-made, and the teak finish is excellent. However, you can see in my photo that my bench has one board on the bottom shelf that appears to have been overlooked when the final coats of oil and waterproof finish were applied. It is just one small area, nothing major. Here are a couple of thoughts regarding its use as a shower bench.1. With a seat that is 25 inches from side to side, it will probably be too large for use inside of a small shower. It is too wide for my smallest shower, but fits fine in the other one, as I expected.2. There is just over six inches of height between the bottom shelf and the seat. Most shampoo or conditioner bottles will not fit on the bottom shelf in a standing position. The shampoo shown in my photo is one of my smaller bottles. For most other uses, that will not matter. My conclusion : I really do love this fashionable and multipurpose piece of teak furniture.Teak is one of the most durable woods around, with a lovely golden color. This will be an attractive addition to my home, whether I choose to use it in the shower, or as a table, bench, plant stand, or something else entirely.
